Leadville Ski Joring

Leadville Ski Joring is one of Colorado’s most unique and historic winter events. Set on Leadville’s main street at 10,200 feet, the sport pairs skiers with galloping horses as they race through a course of jumps and rings—fusing rodeo intensity with alpine precision. It’s fast, chaotic, and deeply rooted in Western tradition.

As Media & Communications Director, I led the full digital and creative strategy for the event. This included brand positioning, social media execution, press coordination, and content production—before, during, and after the race weekend. I helped grow the event’s visibility through targeted media partnerships, modernized its visual identity, and contributed to a 70% increase in year-over-year attendance. I also had the opportunity to compete, bringing both personal and creative perspective to the work.
